Privacy policy

Who we are

Vitrine ("we", "us") operates the Vitrine consumer app and website, which help you find products in stock at physical stores near you. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.

For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at contact@vitrineguide.com.

What we collect

Account data: your email address and the display name you choose when you register.

Location data: with your permission, your approximate or precise device location, used only to show stores near you. You can use search without granting location by entering a city instead.

Camera and photos: with your permission, images you capture or select to scan a barcode or submit a product sighting. Photos you submit are stored to power community submissions.

Activity data: the shopping lists you create, product sightings you confirm or deny, reservations you make, and reputation points you earn.

Technical data: basic device and log information needed to operate and secure the service.

Why we use it (legal bases)

To provide the service you asked for — search, map, lists, reservations (performance of a contract).

To maintain data quality and prevent abuse, such as rate-limiting submissions (legitimate interest).

To send you essential account and reservation emails (performance of a contract).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of processors strictly to run the service: Supabase (database and authentication, EU/US), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email), Stripe (payment processing for paid reservations), and Mistral AI (EU, for text assistance). Each processes data only on our instructions.

We never share your identity with other users. Community sightings and reviews are shown without your name.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is removed and your public contributions are anonymised (see below).

Transactional records required for accounting or legal reasons (for example, paid reservations) may be retained for the period the law requires.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, use the in-app controls or email contact@vitrineguide.com.

If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time from the app: open Profile → Delete account, and confirm. This permanently removes your account, email, display name, shopping lists, and reservations.

Your public community contributions (product sightings and reviews) are not deleted but are anonymised — they are unlinked from you so the map stays accurate without identifying you.

If you cannot access the app, you may request deletion by emailing contact@vitrineguide.com from your registered address. We will action it within 30 days.

Children

Vitrine is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
